PTA WELCOME

2009-2010

Dear Harrington Families,

The Harrington PTA Executive Committee would like to welcome new and returning Harrington families to the 2009-2010 school year. We hope you had a relaxing, enjoyable summer and are rejuvenated for the start of the school year.  We all agree that our children are our top priority and that education is one of life’s most important gifts.  PTA Harrington is an extension of the National Parent Teacher Association. We are dedicated to the education, health and welfare of the students in our school. We look forward to supporting all of our teachers and staff who work tirelessly during the year to provide our children with a high quality education and a nurturing environment.

The PTA is partnered with the school staff and administration and together we have created many opportunities for parents to become involved in the Harrington community. The money raised by the PTA during the year allows us to provide:

• Teacher and staff supplies
• Enrichment programs for students and grants for teachers and staff
  (e.g.  Arts and Science Programs by the N.E. Aquarium, the Kindergarten chick-raising project and more)
• Teacher and staff appreciation meals
• Custodians for events
• Home folders for all children
• Agendas for 4th and 5th grade students
• Tissues, baby wipes and pumped soap for all classrooms

It is our hope that you will join us in the effort to enhance our children’s elementary school experience by getting involved during the school year and becoming a PTA member. Simply complete and return the “Harrington PTA 2009-2010 Membership Form” and/or contact a committee chair to volunteer in an area that interests you. The elementary years are a precious time for you to be involved in your child's education.  Everyone’s contribution, whether large or small, has a positive influence. You can make things happen, grow and contribute to positive change. We welcome all ideas and suggestions you may have. We are here to support our school, the teachers and staff and most importantly our children. We are truly grateful for everyone’s participation.
