Take a Walk through a First Grader's EyesFirst grade walks are based on animals and their habitats. They learn what animals need to live: food, water, warmth, air and shelter. They explore how different habitats meet these needs and compare fall resources with summer food sources and shelter. They observe birds and other common animals. Please check the walk schedule and the grade coordinator or classroom representative for details of when each walk takes place. Walk leaders should remember to recite Harrington's Big Backyard Mantra before each walk.
