
Take a Walk through a Fifth Grader's EyesGrade Five Nature Walkers explore a forest ecosystem. They will explore and record in a forest ecosystem, observe interactions and interdependence in this system, discover the cyclic nature of the food/energy cycle, and realize that an ecosystem is a continually changing process of interdependence between plants, aninmals, fungi, and non-living things. In addition the students are introduced to scientific journaling. Please check the walk schedule and the grade coordinator or classroom representative for details of when each walk takes place. Walk leaders should remember to recite Harrington's Big Backyard Mantra before each walk.
